PACIFICO & ENA (ACURANTES) PALANOG

LOLO PACI was Mayor of Nabas for several years; He is the founding father of Western Aklan Academy, the first high school in Nabas where most of our family who grew up in Nabas graduated from. The street in front of the Palanog ancestral house is named "Pacifico R. Palanog St." in recognition of his contributions to Nabas. LOLA ENA was an entrepreneur who managed a variety store and a gas station while concurrently serving as WAA's Treasurer. They had a son,  MANUEL,  who died shortly after birth and  3 daughters, THELMA, a Physician - OB-GYN who took over as President of WAA after the demise of her Papa, GLADYS who is a lawyer and also served as Mayor of Nabas in the recent past, and VIVIEN, a business major who took over where Lola Ena left off with the variety store, gas station and as Treasurer of WAA.

(1st Picture in this album)

The Acurantes-Palomata Clan

Lola Lily was born on May 16, 1913, the 5th child of our great Lolo Intong and Lola Consing Acurantes.  Mestiza-looking Lola Lily was married to Salvador VillaFranca Palomata , a known haciendero in Negros Occidental.  They have eight Children but only six survived.  Lolo Badong died early when his six children were still young.  Danilo, the eldest child, passed the Navy Recruitment and was able to go to the United States.  Standing as Father and Big Brother to the family, he petitioned his Mama Lily, followed by Josefa, Edmundo and Marietta.Monroe(Nonoy),  and Cecilia were left in the Philippines because Cecil was already married while Nonoy could not leave because of his broken arm.  Mama Lily once said that it is better to have Cecil & Nonoy in the Philippines because she plans to return to the Country when the time is right.  LOLA LILY died in Nabas, Aklan on October 08, 2000.
